Double-hand Poker is a modern game with old origins. Based on the ancient Chinese tile game and the modern American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker joins the eastern with the west in a great game for starting gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player versus the house, unlike nearly all other poker games that gamblers bet against other players. By gambling against the dealer, starting players don’t need to be concerned about other, more advanced gamblers winning their cash.
An additional Pai Gow advantage is the fairly slow game play, newcomers are able to take their time and scheme while not needing to make frenzied decisions.
It is also easier to enjoy for a long time with basically a little bit of cash since, to not win, both of your hands must be under both of the houses hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card basic deck and a single joker. The player is dealt seven cards faces showing and the house is given seven cards face down.
One five card hand and one two card hand must be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be better than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be better than the dealer’s.
