Double-hand Poker is a modern game with old ancestry. Built on the ancient Chinese domino game and the modern American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the eastern with the western in an excellent game for new gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler against the croupier, not like almost all other poker games that gamblers play with other players. By gambling against the dealer, beginning players don’t need to fret about any other, more experienced people winning their mulla.

Another Pai Gow edge is the relatively slow game pace, novices are able to take their time and scheme without needing to make frenzied choices.

It is also easier to play for a very long time with just a tiny amount of cash since, to lose, each of your hands must be under each of the casino’s hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card standard deck and one joker. The player is dealt seven cards faces showing and the house receives 7 cards face down.

A 5 card hand and a 2 card hand need to be made from the seven cards, the 5 card hand has to be higher than the two card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand values to be larger than the houses.
