Double-hand Poker is a current game with ancient ancestry. Founded on the old Chinese tile game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the east with the western in an excellent game for starting players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler versus the dealer, not like nearly all other poker games that gamblers bet against other players. By competing against the dealer, beginning players don’t have to be concerned about other, more skillful players winning their moolla.

An additional Pai Gow advantage is the fairly leisurely game play, rookies are able to take their time and strategize while not needing to make frenzied decisions.

It’s also easier to enjoy for an extended time with just a small bit of cash after all, to lose, both of your hands must be lower than each of the casino’s hands.

Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card common deck and a single joker. The gambler is given 7 cards face up and the croupier is given 7 cards faces hidden.

A five card hand and a 2 card hand must be put together from the seven cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be better than the two card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be larger than the dealer’s.
